Reports To:
Project Manager


Job Purpose:

The Safety Officer is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees and contractors working on the project.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide safety training and education to employees and contractors
  • Monitor and report on safety performance, including incident rates and nearmisses
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate and participate in emergency response planning and drills
  • Communicate safety information and updates to employees and contractors
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training and incidents

Qualifications:

  • IOSH certification
  • Osha certification
  • NEBOSH certification
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a safety role in infrastructure& roads
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and decisionmaking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
