GENERAL MANAGER




REPORTS TO:
CEO


Job Summary:


The General Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the entire operations of the business to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.

He sets policies for operations, create and maintain budgets.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Hires and trains new employees in the operation with managerial and supervisory roles.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
  • Confirms performance evaluations of direct reports in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Confirms discipline and termination of employees as recommended by Line Manager in accordance with company policy.
  • Plans and organizes daily activities related to operations.
  • Measures productivity and work results of sites and technical staffs by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to ensure successful operations.
  • Oversees the shipping and receiving functions.
  • Determines labor needs to meet operational goals.
  • Assists with budget preparation for operations unit.
  • Involved in the decisionmaking in the acquisition of projects.
  • Set KPI's for the Sales team and determine targets, strategies and goals.
  • Assists with, or prepares and updates, organizations operational systems, manual and policies.
  • Ensures that supplies and materials requisition of sites are as per requirement and budget
  • Designs and implements office and operation policies by establishing standards and procedures, measuring results against standards, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Keeps management informed by reviewing and analysing special reports; summarizing information; identifying trends.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requires Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and office management.
  • Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set company goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Qualifications:


  • At least 5+ years of related experience in a similar role preferably from a fitout company.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required; M.B.A. preferred.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
