    Responsibilities

    • To have single - point responsibilityfor all Instrument and Controls System design and engineeringdeliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicableengineering codes and standards as well as the Client'spolicies and procedures
    • Definition of plantoverall controls architecture
    • Coordination ofI&C team and reporting to Project or Engineering Manager onproject related matters
    • Supporting thePlanning, scheduling and execution of discipline activities anddeliverables, including manhour estimating and schedule preparationto support bid / tendering asrequired.
    • Ownership of I&C schedule andplanning
    • Manage discipline work to the requiredschedule and manpower allocation, including requesting personnel asidentified by the plan, and day-to-day supervision of disciplinepersonnel on the project. This includes approval of timesheets,holiday approval and overtime approval wheredelegated.
    • Manage and report progress of allI&C engineering and design budgets in line with contractrequirements including weekly and cumulativeproductivity.
    • To identify any areas of concernwith respect to progress and / or quality and recommend correctiveactions as required
    • To attend weekly internaland external progress meetings and generate status reports for theEngineering / Project Manager
    • To ensure allteam members are competency assessed and maintain the competency ofthe team in line with company and Clientrequirements
    • Define minimum acceptance criteriaand Undertake pre qualification of thirdparties
    • Liaise and engage with Licensors,Equipment Vendors and OEM's as required to conclude theproject deliverables in accordance with the project scope andprovide third party budget costs for stage gate estimates asrequired
    • Define scope of work for 3rd Party subcontracts as required.
    • Preparation of TenderBid Evaluations and assessment of bids
    • Reviewof Vendor Documents on Detailed EngineeringProjects
    • Provide input to EPC scope of work andEPC Tender Package for EXECUTE stage
    • To co -ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of designdevelopment, construction, pre - commissioning, and start - up toensure there is no conflict within the overall engineeringdesign.
    • To provide technical support to site interms of material inspection, Factory Acceptance Testingetc.
    • Ensure compliance with management ofchange processes both technical andfinancial
    • To provide direction and guidance ontechnical queries relating to I&C engineering and raiseappropriate EQ's / deviations
    • Toparticipate in all project safety and design reviews asnecessary
    • To ensure that all work is completedwithout compromise to quality and is delivered according to theproject schedule
    • To liaise with theClient's Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff asrequired to ensure a consistent approach to project completionwhilst ensuring that the project is concluded within the boundaryof the technical scope.
    • Take ownership for RiskIdentification, Assessment, Mitigation, Monitoring and Close Outfor your respective discipline.
    • To promote safebehavior at all times
    • To provide soundtechnical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problemswithin the discipline
    • Promote and encouragesmarter ways of working and champion continuous improvement withinyour department
    • Ensure all lessons learnt arecaptured and shared

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in arelevant discipline (Instrumentation or Electronics) from anaccredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years ofrelevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gasindustry, including minimum (5) years (preferred) in GCCregion
    • Must have at least five (5) years ofexperience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas orPetrochemical projects, managing team of Specialists, SeniorEngineers and Engineers
    • Experience FEED, Detaildesign and EPC projects
    • Fully coherent in allinternational codes and standards
    • Excellentcommand of both spoken and written English isrequired
    • Assurance of tender and supply for allI&C equipment
    • Thorough knowledge ofDCS, ESD, F&G and SCADA systems generally incorporated inmajor Brownfield oil / gas offshoreprojects.
    • Participation with contributionduring P&IDs, HAZOP, and SIL reviews workshop Review andwhere required approval of work byothers
    • Previous experience of working in theMiddle East would be anadvantage
