    Description

    3.1. Providesconsultations, examinations, and treatments including procedureswith a full range of agents, methods, and techniques, observingquality and safety standards.

    3.2.Provides technical advice and guidance to colleaguesand nursing staff as part of orientation or training in newtechniques and procedures.

    3.3.Conducts rounds of inpatients under care to assesspatient's condition and treatment progress; developtreatment care plans; order treatment regimens; establish rapportwith the

    patient and relatives; and answerpatient's queries.

    3.4.Sees patients preoperatively to evaluatepatient's condition and suitability prior toany

    procedures.

    3.5.Examines the patient post-operatively to assesscomplications, order further treatmentor

    referral to another specialty asindicated.

    3.6.Participates in the T.Q.M. programs in collaborationwith T.Q.M. Department. Must be

    an active memberof hospital-wide committees like the Code Blue Committee in aposition designated or elected by committeemembers.

    3.7.Provides continuing education, training, anddemonstration by sharing new procedures and techniques tocolleagues, nurses, and technicians assigned within the departmentin

    collaboration with Academic Affairs andResearch Center.

    3.8. Attends to work and on-callschedules on time and performs duties completelybefore

    ending theshift.

    3.8.1.Endorses to the next shift any uncompleted task tobe continued and/orcompleted.

    3.8.2.Responses to emergencies in the hospital withoutdelay during on-call duty.

    3.9.Attends to scheduled or unscheduled meetings todiscuss and resolve problems.

    3.10.Assists the Chief Cardiologist as required likeassuming administrative responsibility inthe

    absence of the Chief or looking after hispatients as requested.

    3.11.Performs other duties necessary to effect efficientservices in the departmentwithout

    • Hesitation.

    Education:

    4.1.1.Essential:

    MBBS or MBBCH (or its equivalent from country oforigin) plus one (1)yearInternship

    Msc followed by M.D. or board or equivalent in thespecialty.

    4.1.2. Inthe case of a sub-specialty, the candidate should have appropriatetraining in this sub-specialty for at least one (1) year in areputable healthinstitution.

    4.2.Experience:

    4.2.1.Minimum5 years' experience as Consultant afterqualification

    4.2.2.At least five (5) published papers in reputablelocal or international journals in his/herspecialty.
