The United Arab Emirates University invitesapplications for a Clinical Director position (at the level ofInstructor, Assistant or Associate Professor) with a specializationin speech-language pathology (SLP), in the Department of CognitiveSciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The post isexpected to be available from September 2020, pending budgetaryapproval.
The successful applicant isexpected to supervise the clinical training aspect of the programin the three offered practica in our SLP program, including siteevaluation, clinical placement of students, co-supervision withpreceptors, assessment and evaluation of the clinical trainingprocess and so on. The program aims to create an onsite SLP clinicin UAEU and, pending approval, the candidate would be expected totake a leading role in establishing and directing the clinic. Inaddition, the candidate is expected to teach clinical trainingrelated courses, such as Evaluation, Diagnosis & ReportWriting. Finally, s/he should also be able to contribute to theteaching of other courses in the program as needed, advisestudents, and serve on committees. Although English is the languageof instruction, the successful candidate must have near-nativecompetence in oral and written Arabic in order to be able tocommunicate with stakeholders in clinical placement.

- MA, MSc or PhD in Speech-Language Pathology or a relatedarea
- SLP certification and a minimum of 2years of licensed clinical experience beyond the ClinicalFellowship
- Expertise in assessment andintervention experience in communication and swallowing disordersand in at least two additional areas including, Augmentative andAlternative Communication (AAC), voice disorders, fluencydisorders, early intervention, preschool language disorders,pediatric feeding disorders, autism and/or school-age speech andlanguage disorders.
