Job Role: JUDICIAL CLERK

Responsibility:

• To draftjudgements for local judges through reviewing the case briefs andsubmissions on file for the case, consulting with the judge andfinalize in discussion with the Judge.
• Toarrange to publish the judgement summaries along with final verdicton cases.
• To conduct legal research on theclarifications raised by the judges and provide response onjudges.
• To provide assistance to judges /judicial officers on editing work on judgements, articles and anyother judicial documents.
• To preparepresentations on the legal research conducted as advised byjudges
• To provide any other administrativesupport to the Judges, Judicial Officer and registry functions asand when needed
• Other duties as and whenrequired:
  • Drafting and implementing PracticeDirections and Guidance Notes to ensure efficiency and consistencyin the way that cases are dealt with by the court
  • Assisting in the enforcement of cases
  • Preparing for Hearings and case management
  • Facilitating alternative dispute resolution
  • Appeals: considering any applications for permission toappeal

Requirements

• Post Graduate Degree preferably inLaw.
• At least 5-8 years' experienceExperience of working in a court environment and researchingcases.
• An ability to take responsibility, havestrong relationship building skills and an ability to influence keystakeholders is a must.
• Working closely withJudges and senior officials to evaluate and continuously improvecontent, research and preparation of judgments.

Qualifications:
