Job Role: Accountant

General Description: Perform accounting tasks related tothe efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payabletransactions in a timely manner following the set accountingpolicies and procedures.

Main Duties:

• Process all types of payments (includingclaims, brokers' commissions, trade) on daily and weeklybasis
• Check invoices for adequate approval andsupporting documents prior to booking
• Liaisewith the Procurement team and major suppliers to ensure thatrequired statement of accounts and monthly supplier reconciliationreport are completely and timely submitted
• Update the Oracle system with proper back-ups on FixedAssets related invoices on a weekly basis
• Maintain a data base record on wire payment status, LocalPurchasing Order (LPO) balances, copies of all existing agreementsand contracts

Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Junior Accountant or ina similar role handling routine accounts work and maintainingcomputerised accounting systems
• Goodunderstanding of accounting and financial reporting principles andpractices
• Experience in OracleFinancials
• Bachelor degree in Accounting,Finance or Commerce
• Good command of writtenand spoken English; knowledge of Arabic language is anadvantage
• Good analytical, execution, problemsolving and decision making skills
• Ability toacquire and apply new skills
• Flexible and ableto work under pressure
• Respect and maintain ahigh level confidentiality
• Proactive andresults oriented whilst ensuring high quality of work
• Advance level of customer service orientation andprofessionalism in all interactions
• Able towork in a multi-cultural environment and promote teamwork andknowledge sharing in order to achieve goals anddeliverables
• Good knowledge of healthinsurance concepts
• Good knowledge of Microsoftapplications
• Working knowledge in OracleFinancials is a plus
• Knowledge ofInternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is aplus
