About the Role:
As Commis 2, youwill assist in the smooth running of the hotel kitchen by preparingand presenting food to a high standard, and maintaining hygienepractices. Follow brand standard food specifications with a highlevel of performance and presentation and will ensure minimum foodwastage in the kitchen. You will be required to ensure consistencyof brand standards and a high level of performance and servicedelivery is maintained at all times.
Reporting to the Chef De Partie,responsibilities and essential job functions include but are notlimited to the following:
Prepare ingredients forcooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
Weigh,measure, and mix ingredients.
Prepare and cook foodaccording to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards,and food preparation checklist.
Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, andfryers.
Test foods to determine if they have beencooked sufficiently.
Monitor food quality whilepreparing food.
Set-up and break down workstation.
Serve food in proper portions onto properreceptacles.
Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables,tools, knives, and equipment.
Check and ensure thecorrectness of the temperature of appliances and food.
Strong interpersonal andproblem solving abilities
Highly responsible &reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part ofa team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs,remaining calm and courteous at all times
Preferablywith Culinary Arts Education / Valid Trade Certificates
Good command in English / Any other language would be anadvantage
