Job Role: Financial Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Ensure all financialrecords of the school are kept in good order in an accurate andtimely manner; including, but not limited to monthly, quarterly andannual execution and accurate measurement, recognition anddisclosure of:
  • Staff payroll transactions andall employee related costs and provisions
  • Bankand cash related transactions, including bankreconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable and otherrevenue management – related activities

Accounts Payable

  • General Ledger accounting from entry through to trialbalance and interim financial statements.
  • Prepares annual budget according to student numbers,measuring achievement thereof and reporting thereon to theschool’s management, governing bodies and shareholders asmay be required from time to time
  • Identification and implementation of improved internalcontrols
  • Reviews whole school purchase orderswith the Principal
  • Sends email to Mashreq bankfor visa refunds (credit card payments)
  • Monitors Loan repayment and bank interestschedule
  • Prepare and update schedule of staffEnd of Service
  • Maintains Fixed Assetsregister
  • Issue payment receipts viaQuickBooks
  • Issue invoices or letter requestsfor students and send them to parents
  • Sendemail/SMS communication to parents in relation to schoolfees
  • Reviews and finalize payroll register andsend to Private Office for approval
  • Arrangeall other expenses and cheques and send to Private Office forapproval
  • Process WPS salaries thru ADCBportal
  • Ensures all financial transactions arerecorded on QuickBooks
  • Reviews and verifiescashier’s Daily Monitoring of collections with petty cashexpenses
  • Ensures cash collections aredeposited or kept in the safe
  • Monitors dailycash flows and provides Cash Position report to the management andschool governors
  • Reviews ledger of accountsfor year-end closing
  • Monitors and updatesStudents’ ledger with term fees
  • Control the payment according to budget
  • Prepare all the entries – prepayments andaccruals
  • Prepare all monthly reportsneeded
  • Manage audit queries and prepare filesfor audit requirements


  • Process renewal of staffmedical insurance
  • Assist the administrationteam to perform duties as requested



  • Female
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting orequivalent
  • CA/CPA/ACCA Qualified
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in financialaccounting
  • Knowledge and experience inQuickBooks Accounting System
  • ExcellentMicrosoft Office and data entry skills
  • Has asolid analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle end to end accountingprocess
  • Proactive self-starter with ability tomanage a wide variety of tasks and meet deadlines
