KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Read daily events to be aware of any VIP arrivals.• Must have a complete working knowledge of bar items,ingredients and preparation • Ensure all details ofservice are performed properly for every guest • Tounderstand and adhere to Beverage Department Standard OperatingProcedures • Change ashtrays, serve cigarettes and wipedown bar area • Carry trays, bus and reset tables withlinen, china, glass and silver • Ascertain guestsatisfaction and handle any problem which may arise, informing amanager of the problem and how it was resolved • Whenpossible greet regular guests by name and note and servepreferences accordingly • Professionally set up bar at thestart of opening, including liquor, icing, glassware, juices andgarnishes • Process drink orders in proper calling orderboth from guests directly and from service staff, checking forcorrect order and managing billing quickly and efficiently• Make all cocktails in accordance with Hotel’sstandard beverage manual • Receive and check liquoragainst previous shift’s requisitions • Attemptto limit problems and liability related to customers'excessive drinking • Serve snacks or food items tocustomers seated at the bar • Organize requisition, pickup and verification for F&B items used in the bar areas• Ensure that the bar is fully stocked and all sideopening and closing duties are completed • Slice and pitfruit for garnishing drinks • Arrange bottles and glassesto make attractive displays • Keep the bar area neat andtidy at all times, regularly clearing dishes and glassware• Manage security in the work area, and at no time toleave the bar area unless properly relieved by a colleague• Assist with cleanup - mopping floors, removal of cansand bottles, general cleaning of rails and counters, removal ofmelting ice in bins • Maintain complete knowledge of allF&B services, outlets, hotel services/features •Able to handle cash following established and proper Accountingprocedures PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES • Reading, writing and oralproficiency in the English language • Team player with acreative and outgoing personality • Must be well-presentedand professionally groomed at all times • Goodcommunication and customer contact skills; good problem resolutionskills • Good Food and Beverage product knowledge. A goodknowledge of beverage service styles and techniques, beveragepreparation and specialized beverage orders of service is required.A good knowledge of all hard liquor, wines, mixes/cocktails.QUALIFICATIONS • Secondary school education EXPERIENCE• Minimum 2 years food and beverage experience withdetailed bar knowledge • Previous public contact and/orcashiering experience
