ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Perform standard Simulator supportactivities such as: operation, inspection, periodic maintenance(align & adjust), of Simulator components andsystems

  • Perform Customerconfiguration changes to Simulators and FTDs, evaluate and confirmproper post change operation. This includes hardware, software, andavionics database change-outs

  • Able to quickly identify, troubleshoot, repair or replacemost of the Simulator and FTD electrical and sub system componentsand most hydraulic system components with little to noassistance.

  • Must befamiliar with all governing regulations required by the variousapproval authorities for the proper operation of all FTDs, thefacility, and the safe employment of personnel.

  • Initiate or assist users in thedocumentation of discrepancies for the FTD’slogbook.

  • Must beknowledgeable of all Simulator Support, Quality OperatingProcedures (QOPs), and related documentation.

  • Adhere to required work schedule includingprompt and regular attendance.

  • Report on a timely basis, any safety hazards observed inwork area, equipment, and/or building to the appropriate person(s)for correction.

  • Supportspublished Quality Management Systems (QMS) and BusinessProcesses.

  • Occasionallytravel for training purposes or to assist others, asneeded.

  • Exhibit andpractice professional and courteous behavior while interacting withboth internal and external customers.

  • Operate and maintain the following simulatorslisted.

    • Mirage 2000-9
    • F- 16
    • A330 - MRTT
    • PC - 21 / PC – 7
    • Hawk102
    • 295MW
    • C-17
  • Maintain simulators andensure they are in working condition 24/7.

  • Travel to other CONUS installations wheresimulators are fielded or deployed or where a unit is conductingextended training operations, such as New Equipment Training orMobilization Training; or to the simulator’s originalequipment manufacturer (OEM) facility to receive initialtraining.

  • May be requiredto enter into Temporary Duty (TDY) at another location to supportrequired training.

  • Travelrequired when assigned simulator is moved and used at a differentlocation.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • General knowledge of Microsoft word, excel,PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Familiaritywith Microsoft Access preferred.
  • Knowledge ofother software programs may be required, as needed.
  • PC literate and Basic Office equipment
  • CompTIA A+ and Security+
  • Fluency inEnglish, through both verbal and written communications.
  • Fluency in Arabic as well is preferred.
  • Able to read and interpret documents.
  • Able to write routine reports andcorrespondence.
  • Ability to obtain a UAE WorkVisa.

 

EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE

 

  • Associate's degree in electronics froma college or completion of a civilian/military electronicstechnical school preferred, plus two (2) years’experience, including:
    • Electronics technology,avionics or related civilian/military technology; or
    • Equivalent direct experience with simulators or otherFTDs
    • Education can be substituted by acombination of three (3) years education and experience in arelated field.
  • Must beable to:
    • Read and interpret technicaldrawings
  • Priorexperience maintaining/operating at least one of the followingsimulators.
    • Mirage 2000-9
    • F- 16
    • A330 - MRTT
    • PC - 21 / PC – 7
    • Hawk102
    • 295MW
    • C-17
  • Use test equipment, supportequipment and tools used on flight simulators, graphical flightsimulators (GFSs) and associated electronics devices
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the advancedoperating principles of simulator and FTD subsystems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKENVIRONMENT

 

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 poundsand comply with OSHA standards
  • Requiresintermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, andbending throughout the workday.
  • Must be ableto see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these sensesto function adequately to assure that the requirements of thisposition can be fully met.
