Description:
Sargent & Lundy is one of the largest and most experienced power industry engineering and consulting firms. We have a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Consulting group in the role of a Project Manager. This position will require you to execute work associated with the development financing and execution of power generation projects.
This position is being added to support continued growth of the Sargent & Lundy Consulting group which regularly provides technical and financial due diligence asset transaction support project development services owners engineering services and longterm planning support.
This position will require a great deal of facetoface interaction with power project developers utilities investors legal advisors and financial institutions during the execution of consulting services work for the firm.
Common responsibilities include:
Develop consulting project execution plan to meet clients needs
Lead project team by providing clear instruction including technical approaches
Manage hours and work performed to budget and scope
Develop staff expertise through training and mentoring
Prepare proposals for consulting project opportunities
Conduct multiple projects simultaneously and ensure high standards of deliverables are met
Client management
Additional responsibilities as required include:
Advise power project developers to support new thermal and renewable energy projects as well as desalination (SWRO) projects;
Perform owners engineer design reviews of mechanical systems for power and water projects
Participate as in feasibility studies and development support for new power and water projects
Participate in condition assessments of existing power plants
Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing;
Develop planning studies and business cases for utilities power producers and government agencies.
Interface with clients to understand requests and confirm successful project execution
Travel from time to time to visit project locations and client offices.
Ability to work off hours to support calls in other regions (UASA) Qualifications:
This position is based in the United Arab Emirates.
This position requires a Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with 1215 years of experience in the power industry including:
Owners engineer independent engineer and/or design engineer experience for development and execution of conventional power generation specifically CCGT / Cogeneration.
Feasibility studies for power projects
Experience and technical knowledge in multiple power generation technologies
solar battery energy storage wind a plus but core competency in conventional energy is required.
Experience in longterm power supply and transmission planning projects is a plus
Experience in project finance or financial modeling of power projects is a plus
Experience with LNG projects SWRO H2/Ammonia or CCUS projects is a plus
