- Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal counsel and guidance to the private banking division on various legal matters, including but not limited to, regulatory compliance, financial transactions, investment products, and client relationships.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with financial laws, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring that private banking operations are in compliance with local and international legal requirements.
- Contract Review and Drafting: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to private banking activities, such as client agreements, investment agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on potential clients, investments, and transactions to ensure they align with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Policy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote legal and regulatory compliance within the private banking sector.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports to senior management on legal matters, compliance status, and risk assessment within the private banking department.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a legal counsel in banking
- Indepth knowledge of financial laws and regulations related to private banking, including but not limited to banking regulations, investment laws, and securities regulations
- Strong knowledge of wealth management and investment products
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problemsolving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
