- Performs the professional dutiesof a Pulmonologist in adherence to the Delineation of Privilegesdepending on the efficiency and skills of the particularindividual.
- Answers in-patient consultationsfrom medical or other in-patientservices.
- Orders diagnostic laboratory andX-ray examinations, determining the diagnosis and prescribingapplicable therapy and taking the necessary preventivemedicine.
- Reviews journals and textbooks inorder to keep current on latest techniques, procedures andtherapy.
- Participates in continuing in-servicetraining programs, physician's conferences,etc.
- Responsible for the proper practice ofinfection control guidelines in all clinicalareas.
- Keeps current with emergency techniquesas they emerge and evolve.
- Active participationand sustained qualification in all cardio-pulmonary resuscitationprograms.
- Attends staff meetings and weeklyrounds and participates in in-service activities as required, i.e.,Morbidity & Mortality conferences, Peer Reviews,etc.
- Performs additional duties as designatedby the Head of the Department.
- Comply with allOSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures andcooperate with hospital management to comply thoserequirements
- Work in accordance with thedocumented OSH procedures and instructions, specificresponsibilities
- Be familiar with emergency andevacuation procedures
- Notifying OSH Hazards,incidents, Near misses, and issues and assistance with thepreparation of risk assessments, incidentreports
- Comply with Waste management proceduresand policies
- Attend applicable OSH/Infectioncontrol training programs, mock drills, and awarenessprograms
- Use of appropriate personal protectiveequipment and safety systems
- Graduationfrom an approved medical school plus one year ofinternship.
- Post-graduate degree in PediatricPulmonology from a recognized medicalcollege.
- At least five (3) years of practice asa Pediatric Pulmonologist aftercertification.
- Excellent command of oral andwritten English. Knowledge of the Arabic language is desirable butnot essential.
- Must be highly skilled in thefield of practice, with mature clinical judgment and the ability toprovide professional leadership. He/she must have a thoroughknowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures withreference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of hiswork; a personality that inspires confidence and trust in hispatients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations of theMedical Organization.
- Current licensure incountry of origin and with HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi,UAE.
- Communication, and interpersonal skills asapplied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients, andfamilies.
