Wellness Coordinator is responsible to serve the needs of the business, our guests and our colleagues by ensuring that all guests are enjoying a positive and memorable Melia Desert Palm experience.

They lead, instruct, and motivate individuals or groups in exercise activities, including cardiovascular exercises (exercises for the heart and blood circulation), strength training, and stretching.

They also plan and deliver great customer service and organize procedures designed to improve participants' mental and physical well-being in Fitness Centre & Spa.


  • Will be responsible for management of companysponsored sports / fitness initiatives, client databases and market research to expand client base and service portfolio.
  • Source potential members by scheduling appointments, providing tours, responding to inquiries of potential fitness members & Spa guests.
  • Will be responsible for developing programs, coordinating activities and maintaining a positive point of contact with local corporate sources and liaise closely with the Sales & Marketing team to ensure all sales related activities are streamlined and centralized.
  • Assist the Spa & Recreation Manager with client relationship activities and ensure current members are satisfied with the facilities extended to them.
  • Conducts competitor check and analyses and distribute reports to senior management accordingly.
  • Assist/lead PR/Comms activities under the guidance/assistance of Marcomms Manager.
  • In absence of the Spa & Recreation Manager, will also assist with the day to day operation of the Fitness Centre.
  • To ensure all equipment is well maintained and in safe condition.
  • To handle guest complaints and record all guest comments and ensure the Spa & Recreation manager is aware of all issues.
  • To assist in providing departmental orientation to newly recruited staff. He/she should be flexible at educating line staff in any aspects of operation needed.
  • To perform all operational/documental needs instructed by the Spa & Recreation Manager.
  • To train and develop all the new members joining to the team of their areas of profession as Personal trainers, receptionists, attendants including all the department standards and procedures.
  • To always get the guest to fill in a medical form/informed consent form/cardiac risk index forms etc in every new member.
  • To have a sound and thorough knowledge of the methods and services offered in the Fitness Centre and the items within the retail area.
  • To actively encourage up selling and link selling of services available in the retreat.
  • To perform administrative tasks when needed.
