Trading Associate - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Torbert DMCC

Description

A specialist commodity trading house is seeking a trading associate in its Dubai headquarters. This will suit a self-starter with experience in commodities or shipping. The role requires some travel, but flexible remote/office environment.


Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Analyse market trends and supply chain dynamics to assist senior traders with trading decisions and strategic plans
• Manage customer and supplier relationships and negotiate contract terms with trading partners
• Ability to think creatively and find solutions to deliver value across the trade cycle and optimise and improve efficiencies in daily trading activities
• Attend client meetings and industry events with international travel
• Reports to the managing director

Key Qualifications / Experience

• 5+ years' experience with physical commodity markets or shipping
• Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills
• Strong network within Asian markets, especially China
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential
