Position:
RADIOLOGY CONSULTANT - KUWAIT


Purpose and Scope of the Job


A physician shall work in Radiology devote his/her best ability to its proper management and provide best service for the patients.

The consultant shall provide all services required by Imaging Services in the normal scope of its operations. The consultant shall provide service as per departmental duty rota. Reports to and advises the Diagnostic Imaging Centre -HOD


Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards
1

Ensure implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical

Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines

Performs professional duties as a Radiologist or directs the performance of all

function of diagnostic imaging in regard to film interpretation and procedures.

Keeps informed as to current developments in the field of radiology and keeps the

service staff up to date on new procedures and techniques through group discussions, lectures and in-service training.

Determines which radiological (imaging) and related service procedures are

appropriate to undertake and when new techniques will be utilized. Worked closely with the Chief Technologist, the requirements and actions necessary to assure availability of special equipment and supplies

Participates in group conferences with other physicians for the purposes of case

study from a group standpoint and offers opinions from the imaging standpoint

Assures the adherence to proper safety precautions, infection control and radiation

precautions for the protection of unit/division personnel and patients.

Conduct continuing education meetings for Diagnostic Imaging Services personnel

Provide interpretations of all tests performed by Imaging Services within a time frame

established within the department per Medical Administration.

Makes recommendations for new or improvements to the equipment being used in

Radiology Department/imaging Services., Contributes in development and/or approval of all policies and procedures. administration and provide instructions as required to the various departments in the form of a continuing education program.

Contribute in verification of the qualification and capabilities of all radiological technical personnel as required by Head of DIC Department.

Ensure their presence in the hospital while called for on-call duties.

Follows established policies and procedures.

Attends regularly scheduled meeting for the improvement of patient care services and delivery.

Maintains strictest confidentiality

Co-ordinates and exercises overall professional control over the activities of Medical

Registrars for ensuring that sound administrative and professional standards of medical practice are maintained.

Accept all other additional assignments found necessary by the Head of Department


Qualifications, Competences and Skills

Education_

PhD/Royal College/Fellowship/Membership

Experience_

Minimum 7 yrs of experience ,post Fellowship/Membership experience in relevant specialty

Licensure_

Minimum 7 years of experience
-
Language_

Proficiency in English and Arabic is added value advantage

Computer Proficiency_

Basic computer skills and DIC computer system.
