Our client is a rehabilitation care provider with facilities in the UAE and KSA.

They offer specialized rehabilitation hospital setups and dedicated medical care to patients requiring short-term rehabilitation and long-term care for chronic illness or injury.

The UAE facilities, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi are modified villa complexes with dedicated rehabilitation and pharmacy services, spacious gardens, and recreational outdoor space.

Description:
Your main priorities, as an Occupational Therapist in Abu Dhabi, will be:

  • To provide highly specialist assessments for complex pediatric patients presenting with neurological, orthopedic and social/behavioral issues;
  • Provision of appropriate and clinically reasoned treatment plans alone and in conjunction with an integrated team of physiotherapists, SLPs, and other allied health professionals;
  • Carry a mixed caseload of patients within the neurology specialty with an emphasis on those with highly complex/chronic presentations;
  • Provide highly specialist knowledge and skills for specialist seating, splinting and other postural support aids;
  • Identify and select with the client/carers the most appropriate intervention, which balances the complexity of risk, safety, client/carer choice, independence, areas of conflict, eligibility for service and costeffectiveness;
  • Using advanced experience and knowledge to assess the client's needs for specific equipment and adaptations to allow them to improve or maintain their level of independence in all Activities of Daily Living (ADL);
  • To demonstrate highly specialized therapeutic moving and handling skills in the assessment and treatment of clients. To give highly specialist advice to staff, clients, carers and family on the correct manual handling techniques, undertaking highly specialized manual handling risk assessments;
  • Take an active role in the development of the rehabilitation service, participating in Inservice training, facilitating the training and development of nontherapy staff and sharing knowledge and skills where appropriate.

Skills & Competencies:


  • Excellent communication skills in English, an added advantage if you are bilingual in English and Arabic;

Education & Qualifications:


  • Recognized Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy;
  • Minimum 1 year postqualifying experience in the field of Pediatrics / Adult in a hospital / medical clinic setting;
  • Valid DOH license or eligibility;
  • This post is only open to UAE nationals with passports and family books due to rules & regulations in terms of Emiratisation
  • Relevant range of experience in patient care settings specifically in Out Patients;
