This applies to all physical assets as defined in latest release of DP World's Reliability Strategy Additional responsibility will include continual development of equipment technical specifications and reliability methodologies within the DP World group.

The function requires the ability to lead, direct and manage DP World strategies, growth and development of all Asset reliability solutions and their related technologies.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Trend, monitor and advice, regarding asset maintenance and reliability of Group wide Reliability KPI's. Make recommendations and ensure alignment of reliability strategies in order to maintain asset related maintenance and reliability functions are at desired levels for DP World.
  • Design and governance of all Asset related maintenance and reliability documents for global practices standardization and the DP World Reliability program.
  • Design and implement in line with appropriate BU objective's with respect to asset maintenance and reliability function, including financial effectiveness, efficiency and optimized financial equipment replacement in line with better practices on Life Cycle Asset Costing & Management.
  • Review quality of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reporting and coach Business Unit personnel where required
  • In conjunction with DP World Hub ensure continuous development of the appropriate curriculum in relation to Reliability Academy (or similar as required) in order to provide the necessary training to DP World's global business community, to support BU efficiency needs.
  • Systematically define, design develop, monitor and refine BU Asset Maintenance Plans that include: o Valueadded preventive maintenance tasks
  • Effective utilization of predictive and or nondestructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems/risks.
  • Carries out assessment of equipment performance based on the operating and maintenance experience and manufacturer's standards and propose changes for improvement. Initiates and coordinates trials and testing of new technologies in Terminals.
  • Keep abreast of new development in reliability engineering standards and maintenance optimization programs. Introduces new technology in the field of reliability engineering and maintenance optimization for possible adoption in the installations. Identifies training needs for concerned terminal personnel to upgrade their skills to meet new technology and arranges specialized training courses.
  • Take part in global reliability network through regular conference calls with BU Reliability Team and Head of Engineering
  • Applicable if role has direct reports responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.
  • Promote and demonstrate positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's values and culture
  • Knows the company health, safety and environmental policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility and ensures that they are effectively implemented in his domain. Ensures, by appropriate monitoring and review, that work under his control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Ensures effective accident investigation and follow up.
  • Understand and adhere to DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
  • Performs other similar or relate duties such as participating in multidivisional task forces, working groups, internal auditing teams to deal with relevant technical issues, as assigned

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:


  • Experience with the design and implementation of Container Terminal, Asset related Reliability Programs (as mentioned in section 2 above)
  • Minimum 5 years
  • Good knowledge of Maintenance methodologies like RCM, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Working knowledge of Maximo work order process, reporting, and Business Analytics
  • Specialisation in mechanical and / or electronic discipline (maintenance, repair, design engineering)
  • Master's level.
  • Knowledge in container terminal industry business process, asset reliability, maintenance and repair, systems, finance, integrated technologies, methods and standards.
  • Auditor skills
  • Experience with ISO standards and other relevant codes & standards
  • Excellent knowledge of English language; a second or third language is desired
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Willing to travel
