    Description
    • To understand and strictly adhereto the Rules & Regulations established in the EmployeesHandbook and the Hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Healthand Safety.
    • To attend and contribute to allstaff meetings Departmental and Hotel Training as scheduled andother related activities.
    • To undertake anyreasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by EngineeringManager.
    • To handle guest and employee inquiriesin a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints orproblems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found andassure follow up with guests.
    • To handle andtreat all matters of a confidential nature, oral or written withtact and discretion.
    • In accordance with thesituation or if instructed by the Entity's GeneralManager as agreed with the Employee, perform functions notstipulated in his job description in line with the Internal WorkRules and effective labour legislation.
    • Tofulfill and act on oral and/or written assignments, tasks,instructions and orders of the immediate supervisor, EngineeringManager and Director of Engineering.
    • Replacedburned out and defective fluorescent tubes and light bulbs; replaceburned out ballasts, broken light switches, duplex receptacles,plates, and other plug receptacles.
    • Estimatetype and quantity of materials and equipment required to completeproject and order materials, if needed.
    • Maytrain as well as oversee the work of others who assist incompleting a project.
    • Maintain records of workactivities and materials used.
    • Maintain recordsand write reports.
    • Respond to public inquiriesin a courteous manner; provide information within the area ofassignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timelymanner.
    • Estimate time, materials and equipmentrequired for jobs assigned; requisition materials asrequired.
    • Perform related duties andresponsibilities as required.
    • The ability toclean all stations in Engineering and maintain a neat and organizeddepartment.
    • The ability to respond to all guestcomplaints regarding the maintenance of their room or public areain a timely manner.
    • The ability to assist inperforming preventive maintenance in guestrooms and publicareas.
    • The ability to repair an assortment ofitems brought to the shop by otherdepartments.
