    What You'll Do

    In brief:

    As a foundational member of the practice you will collaborate with cross-functional teams of data analysts, ML engineers, data engineers, backend and front-end engineers, and product managers to drive a culture of causal reasoning throughout the organization.

    Develop and implement cutting-edge methods in experimentation and causal inference to address difficult inference problems

    In detail:

    Develop a comprehensive understanding of our products, operations, systems, and processes by interacting with product managers, engineering teams, and business teams

    Work on cutting-edge inference problems involving a wide variety of data about our kitchens, brands, and products to power rigorous decision-making and help our business succeedCollaborate with data, product, and business teams to identify, prioritize, design, and implement A/B tests, and own the backlog of experiments

    Establish experimentation standards that promote consistency and best practices across the product and business, and communicate these standards effectively to the broader data team

    Work on establishing an experimentation platform, and develop methods and tools that increase the rigor and efficiency of our experimentation platform and analyses that are constructed using causal inference techniques

    What Are We Looking For

    An advanced degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, quantitative, mathematics, physics, operations research, or similar
    • At least 10 years of industry experience using experimentation and causal inference to tackle complex problems in noisy environments.

    Comfort with ambiguity and a track record of driving impact in fast-paced environments.

    Expertise in statistical inference and experiment design and analysis, as well as a proficiency in numeric programming with Python and/or R, and SQL or other database languages.

    Strong product and business acumen, with the ability to quickly dive deep into new domains and identify patterns and opportunities.

    Experience with quasi-experimental design and causal inference analysis in situations where data sizes are limited or controlled experiments are not feasible.

    Hands-on experience building internal experimentation platforms or customizing commercial experimentation tools for business-specific use cases.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively influence non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with technical teammates.

    A deep familiarity with relevant technologies is a plus.
