- Provide a warm and friendlywelcome, leading guests and seating them at theirtable
- Take telephone bookings and maintain aclear and organised reservations book
- Assist inthe set-up of tables and displays
- Maintain andupdate guest database
- Be attentive to guestsand resolve their complaints where possible, reporting allincidents to Supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness ofhostess station and surrounding areas, as well as of allmenus
- Maintain good working relationship withown colleagues, and all otherdepartments
- Correct preparation of allnecessary operational material in the backoffice
- Learn safety, sanitation and hygienepolicies
- Present check to guests and performcashiering function if needed
- Effectivelycontrol guest flow in the restaurant ensuring maximumturnover
- Assist in carrying out quarterly,bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operatingequipment
- Train waitstaff and bus staff inhostess standards
- Ensure the restaurant isready to receive guests prior to opening and that both wait staffand tables are ready in line with openingstandards
- Carry out any other duties as andwhen assigned by the Management of theHotel
- Assist other Food & BeverageOutlets in their operations within peak times whenneeded
- Excellent reading, writing and oralproficiency in English
- Well-presented andprofessionally groomed at all times
- Stronginterpersonal skills and able to establish a good rapport withguests
- Possess full knowledge ofrestaurant's seating/tableplan
- Computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel, Word,Powerpoint)
