Description
We are looking for a Painting Supervisor with 5-7 years of experience of boat/ship painting.

Oversees all aspects of the project using planning, monitoring and controlling processes. He is Responsible for completion of the project on time, on budget and on spec.

He will perform a variety of tasks, coordinating all resources and project team, setting deadlines; assigning responsibilities; and monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of the project.


Responsibilities

1. Knowledge In

  • Paint system procedure
  • Skill for spray gun techniques and strokes
  • The Finishing Supervisor should record
  • Position location of the yacht
  • Area to be coated
  • Product and dry film thickness to be applied
  • Cleaning and surface preparation carried out
  • Ambient temperature, air temperature, substrate temperature, relative humidity
  • Dilution (if applicable)
  • Wet film thickness measured
  • Relevant product batch numbers (including thinners)
  • Knowledgeable for the general care and maintenance dos and don'ts.

2. Day to Day Management

  • Run the project on a daytoday basis, conducting meeting and updates of the total manpower for the day per projects, updating Clearview.
  • Coordinate to QC, Supervisors, Chargehand.
  • Disseminate information to production team through task and subtasks assignment based on requirements
  • Efficiently and competently manage problems when things go off plan (due to scopecreep, changed requirements, missed deadlines etc.) bring them back on plan or create a new plan with the assistance of the team management.
  • Intimately understand the requirements of the project and ensure that work proceeds onspecification.
  • Evaluate deliverables prepared by the team to make sure the work meets requirements and maintains a high level of quality
  • Work with the Project Coordinator & Requirements Analyst as needed to revise Scope & structural/Engineering, as needs of the project evolve. Report any discrepancy at site.
  • Monitor and followup all related materials need for the project as status of placing order and delivery.
  • Coordinate with Project Coordinator/Chargehand regarding OSHA
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration / Safety Practices Implementation.
  • Coordinate with S/Y Admin Team for the 5S Program
  • If job as at stake of urgency to meet the management deadline. You are obliged to render overtime to be able to catch up on the project delay.
  • Prepare the following:
  • Daily Activity Report


  • Project Technical Meeting

  • Minutes of Meeting
  • Painting Logbook Followup with IR
  • Weekly Project Status Update / Progress Pictures Followup c/o QC
  • Weekly Progress

3. Evaluation & Reporting
 Track and report (based on Clearview) team hours and file, presents with charting reports

 Conduct performance evaluations such as the Matrix Process

 Create, maintain & constantly look to improve production processes

 Provide detailed explanations (written and graphical) of production processes

Client Management and Project Technical Group:

  • Schedule and attend meetings with the Owner representatives, Designers and suppliers. (if required/advised PM)
  • Explain the technology in proposed solutions to Clients and others (if applicable)
  • Articulate design rationale and function strategy as it directly relates to accomplishing goals set out (where applicable)
  • Present work to the client at milestones throughout the production
  • Obtain, discuss and followthrough with feedback from client or Surveyor inspection.
  • Work with client against scope creep and endeavor to keep project focused within scope
  • Train clients on use of delivered work. In charge to Project Handover.
  • Investigate and answer clients' questions
  • Support & help troubleshoot delivered work during project and postproject
  • Ensure client expectations are met and exceeded in terms of quality of product and service delivered.
