You will be actively working to lead the mechanical engineering team, manage and develop the members of the team, and work with the rest of the department to collaboratively execute Fields of Action (FoA) co-creation projects to support developing a competitive portfolio and lead the energy transition.


How You'll Make An Impact

  • Set up and lead the SE I ICA TD Mechanical Engineering team including work priority, professional development, and process control. Coordinate and align different technical groups and virtual teams within a multicultural environment.
  • Carry out FoA R&D projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholder.
  • Oversee mechanical engineering activities around the FoA R&D projects.
  • Provide technical leadership to team, ensuring quality of work.
  • Foster a collaborative work ethic within the team and the ICA.
  • Effectively communicate with multiple functional groups (Business Areas, Global Innovation Centers, Customers).

What You Bring

  • University degree in mechanical engineering or similar field (Master/Diploma) or comparable qualification.
  • 10+years of work experience in the field of mechanical engineering or related.
  • Knowledge of aerodynamics, thermodynamics / heat transfer, rotor dynamics, materials.
  • Experience of cocreation with customers or similar.
  • Prior leadership experience is a plus.
  • Focused on doing what's right for the company and the Innovation Center, high energy, and contagious enthusiasm, willing to take on the tough projects and challenges to support the growth of the ICA.
  • Driver for quick results and follow through across teams.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously and successfully.
  • Ability to lead a team, allocate resources, communicate optimally across departments and within the team, and meet project deliverables.
  • Very good English language skills.

The Siemens Energy Innovation Center Abu Dhabi is researching and developing new technologies to help us build a competitive portfolio and the right technology.

We focus on innovating through co-creation with partners, customers, start-ups, and academia in all five Fields of Action with a main focus on Power-to-X and Decarbonized Heat and Industrial Processes.


Decarbonized Heat & Industrial Processes specifically focuses on both Heat and Industrial Emissions. We aim to help our industrial customers produce heat as efficiently and environmentally friendly as possible, reducing their emissions at the same time. Industrial heat pumps and smart, integrated digital tools are examples of the products we develop.


Power-to-X is a vital lever to decarbonize all sectors through bringing renewable energy from the power sector to other sectors and by this decarbonize mobility, heat, industry, and power generation. Power-to-X is building on our strengths in the power business and explores new fields in the chemical and gases business, where building an eco-system of partners is key.
