This role will have the responsibility to successfully initiate and develop business opportunities with new and existing customers. This role will develop and manage their individual portfolio and work in a collaborative team environment.

This role will also be responsible for prospecting, reaching out to referrals, and business to business selling to generate inside and outside transactional sales.

In order to be considered, you must be already based in the UAE.


Key Responsibilities

  • Generate freight forwarding business by selling Air Freight products and services related to Export, Import and X-Trade Sales
  • Engage implementation of any new services in collaboration with the related functions at origins/destinations.
  • Generate leads for Customs Clearance & Transportation
  • Both Export and Import for Air shipments.
  • Increasing revenue through retention of customers as well as add new clientele in the portfolio.
  • Proactively handling customers on timely renewal of rates, follow up for repeat business, unearth potential business to get onboard and collecting payment on time.
  • Effectively identify, communicate and voice customer's needs by actively engaging with internal teams (Customer service, Pricing, Operations, Finance, Management etc.) to resolve challenges, improve products offering and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Focus on revenue optimization and meeting overall targets by offering all products to the customers but largely through Air Freighting services.
  • Support Business Development Executives and team for Air freight sales skill up.
  • Handle customer complaint and claim by engaging internal stakeholders and supporter

  • Achieve Air freight Volume and Gross profit target of your team.
  • Business review (performance and pipelines) with Vertical sales teams.
  • Continuously focus on penetrating other areas of the business for additional support and to uncover additional business opportunities.
  • Understand accounts' business strategy & requirement for Air freight; continually focus efforts on growing Air freight business from existing accounts and new accounts.
  • Identify & Qualify growth opportunities and develop a strategy to secure opportunities with the appropriate internal resources
  • Create a business development plan with short
- and long-term business objectives, and initiatives.

  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers, and meet regularly with managers and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
  • Develop vertical business plans to grow the markets of vertical sectors.
  • Drive customer attraction and retention strategy to improve on customer loyalty.
  • This position must cover a minimum of 70 % of air freight services and 30% nonair.

Required Skills:


  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 5 year of experience in the freight forwarding companies in the UAE.
  • Minimum 3 years as Business Development manager for air freight services.
  • Must have UAE driving License.
  • Structured thinking and positive mindset.
  • Creative and responsible
  • Thorough knowledge of successful business development techniques
  • Detailoriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources
  • Internal/external sales skills and communication skills for coordination and
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Selfmotivated, resultsoriented, and ability to take initiative.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).
