Overview


Assist the Workshops Management to accomplish aviation unit and intermediate maintenance inspections, services, and repairs on all assigned aircraft components.

Will also be responsible for


  • Supervises and provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel performing aircraft power plant maintenance.
  • Evaluates maintenance operations and facilities for compliance with directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures and operational policies.
  • Ensures subordinates manage all forms and records in accordance with DA PAM and related publications.
  • Performs maintenance trend analysis and applies production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to aircraft engine maintenance and shop operations.
  • Instructs and conducts technical training in aircraft engine system maintenance, supply and safety techniques.
  • Evaluates the technical training program on host national personnel.
  • Serves as the focal point for all parts, tools, shop stock and supply requisitions.
  • Maintains accountability for all tools and equipment assigned to the shop.
  • Keeps a current technical library in accordance with shop mission and equipment.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot engine malfunctions and interpret applicable technical data.
  • Responsible for oversight, guidance and counseling of all personnel assigned to them.
  • Responsible for enhancement Shop's capabiilities.

Qualification

  • High School Must have a Federal Aviation Power Plant (P) license or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal turbine engine training course from an accredited military or civilian aeronautical school.
  • Thorough knowledge of common tools, special tools, hardware and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft turbine engines and components / departments.
  • Knowledgeable on The Aviation Maintenance Management System (TAMMS).
Experience

  • Minimum of 10 Years Must have a minimum of 10 years working with turbine engines relevant to aircraft platform and positions.
  • Minimum of 3Years Must have a minimum of 3 years working as a supervisor.
