DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patients:

Ø Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.

Ø Taking medical history of patient, explain the procedure, answer the question that patient may ask, however discussing the result with the patient or family members is prohibited.

Ø Filling up questionnaire and consent form for patient safety before performing the exam

Ø Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.

Ø Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position, adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.

Ø Ensuring that the patient positioning is comfortable as much as the procedure permits.

Ø Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid and using the emergency cart.

Ø Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

Ø Minimize radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding and knowledge of exposure factors.

Ø Assist radiology nurse in administering contrast and other medications under the direction of the radiologist.

Ø Assure patient privacy/confidentiality and dignity.

Ø Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Preventive Maintenance:

Ø Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Ø Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders to supplies; verifying receipts of supplies.

Ø Quality control checks on modalities handled and its associated accessories; contributing to quality assurance and audit initiatives.

Ø Equipment is regularly checked for malfunction or error messages are reported and documented.

Ø Daily cleaning of workplace and sanitizing modalities handled including accessories.

Ø Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Maintaining files:

Ø Ensures that the images are kept in secure location, access must be restricted only to personnel whose job requires them to access these files.

Ø Completed radiographic exams must be in CD in patient envelop.

Management:

Ø Prioritize and deliver time-manage workload effectively and when appropriate, assisting senior staff to plan efficient control of workflow pattern within the department.

Ø Should attend Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Ø Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulation, to protect oneself or others.

Ø Follow the guidelines set by the federal authority for nuclear regulations (FANR) and DHCC to ensure long-term safety, security and sustainability.

Ø Reporting incidents to oneself or others according to departmental procedure.

Ø Report to Medical Director and CEO

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education_: Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology

Holding a valid DHA license

Experience_: Good experience in Mammography, CT Scan, MRI, BMD, OPG, Sonography
Knowledge and Skills_: BLS certified, able to work independently, excellent communication and writing skills, flexible and can handle pressure

Mammogram and MRI experience is must

Salary:
AED5, AED6,000.00 per month
