Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze costs associated with various projects, products, and services, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to accurately track, monitor, and report on costs, ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, variance analysis, and budget vs. actual performance to provide management with actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand cost drivers, pricing strategies, and revenue forecasts, contributing to the development of business plans and financial forecasts.
- Monitor inventory valuation and reconcile inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of inventory records.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and inventory valuation.
- Participate in the development and implementation of cost control measures, process improvements, and internal controls to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide support during audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and/or ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).
- Minimum of 35 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, techniques, and methodologies.
- Proficiency in cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
