- Hemato-oncologists are responsiblefor diagnosing various blood disorders and cancers through physicalexaminations, laboratory tests, and imagingstudies.
- They develop comprehensive treatmentplans for patients based on their specific condition, includingchemotherapy, radiation therapy, bone marrow transplants,immunotherapy, and other therapeuticinterventions.
- Continuously monitor theprogress of their patients throughout their treatment and makeadjustments to the treatment plan asnecessary.
- Provide palliative care to improvethe quality of life for patients with advanced cancer, focusing onpain and symptom management and emotionalsupport.
- Manage and alleviate the symptoms andside effects of cancer and blood disorders, such as pain, anemia,bleeding, and fatigue.
- Publish researchfindings in medical journals to contribute to the advancement ofknowledge in hematology and oncology.
- Educatemedical students and fellow physician on hematology and oncologyprinciples, diagnosis, and treatmentmethods.
- Stay up-to-date with the latestadvancements in hematology and oncology through conferences,workshops, and self-directedlearning.
- Collaborate with other medicalspecialists, such as surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, andnurses, to provide comprehensive care to cancer and blood disorderpatients.
- Offer consultations to otherhealthcare providers seeking guidance on complexcases.
- Advocate for patients and help them makeinformed decisions about their treatmentoptions.
- Offer emotional support to patientsand their families, especially in difficultsituations.
- Maintain accurate medical recordsand documentation of patient care.
- Manageadministrative tasks related to patient care, and Coordinate suchas billing, insurance claims, and scheduling with Front officeteam.
- Adhere to medical ethics, legal and DOH /JCIA compliance and regulations governing patient care andconfidentiality.
- Other assignments as advisedby Head of the department.
- Comply with all OSHand infection control policies, standards and procedures andcooperate with hospital management to comply thoserequirements
- Work accordance with thedocumented OSH procedures and instructions, specificresponsibilities
- Be familiar with emergency andevacuation procedures
- Notifying OSH Hazards,incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with thepreparation of risk assessments, incidentreports
- Comply with Waste management proceduresand policies
- Attend applicable OSH/Infectioncontrol training programs, mock drills and awarenessprograms
- Use of appropriate personal protectiveequipment and safetysystems
- Graduationfrom an approved school of medicine, plus one year ofinternship.
- Culminating in procuring aPost-Graduate Master's degree and/or equivalentFellowships approved by HAAD.
- Current licensurein country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi,UAE.
- At least two years' practice inthe field of Oncology.
- Excellent oral andwritten English. Knowledge of the Arabic language is desirable butnot essential.
