    Job Description The Department ofArchitectural Engineering, College of Engineering, at UAEUniversity is seeking candidates to fill an instructor position inmodeling and model making of building.

    Position Summary -Responsible for teaching model making and modeling topics indesign, engineering and construction courses and for themaintenance and operation of architectural model making facilitiesand the digital fabrication laboratory in the Department ofArchitectural Engineering.

    - Responsible for the operation,maintenance, acquisition and installation of laboratory equipmentand instruments. - Required to assists students and faculty membersin conducting related experiments and research. - Perform specificduties listed below, and other duties as assigned. Duties andResponsibilities - Teach modeling, model making topics and digitalfabrication in building design, engineering and constructioncourses. - Train students and faculty in the Department ofArchitectural Engineering in model making and related softwareapplications and equipment.

    - Responsible for overall operation,supervision and maintenance of the digital fabrication laboratory.- Prepare and maintain equipment and safety products scheduled foruse during laboratory teaching sessions.

    - Confer with teachingstaff periodically to evaluate new equipment and methods. - Providesupport to faculty members to complete the teaching and researchprojects. - Facilitate procurement of equipment's bycoordinating with the purchasing office of the university - Otherduties as assigned by immediatesupervisor

    Requirements

    Knowledgeand Technical Skills Required - Must have good skills in MS Officesuite, Revit, AutoCAD and other computer aided drafting tools; andmust be able to read and interpret architectural and engineeringdrawings.

    Minimum Qualification - Baccalaureate and master Degreein a mechanical or architectural engineering or a relatedprofessional field, with a concentration or application area inmodel making.

    - Languages: English is required.

    PreferredQualification - Must have Baccalaureate Degree in architecturalengineering or a related professional field, and Master Degree inengineering, architecture, industrial design, industrialtechnology, or related, with a concentration or application area inmodel making.

    - Must have expertise in teaching in building designand/or construction areas with an emphasis on modeling and modelmaking.

    - Must have fabrication skills in modern model making andthe experience necessary to work on engineering design softwaresuch as Revit, AutoCAD and three-dimensional design andmanufacturing software.

    - Must have good skills in MS Office suiteand standard office software; and must be able to read andinterpret architectural and engineering drawings.

    - Must befamiliar with the nature of the tools and materials required formodel making and be able to coordinate in purchasing process withvendors.

    - Must be familiar with the procedures required formaintenance of machines; perform periodic maintenance and necessarydevelopment.

    - Must be able to communicate and interact effectivelywith vendors; department faculty, students and administration; anduniversity facilities and maintenance staff.

    ExpectedSkills/Rank/Experience - Baccalaureate Degree in architecturalengineering or a related professional field, and Master Degree inengineering, architecture, industrial design, industrialtechnology, or related, with a concentration or application area inmodel making.
