Bala-City International School was established eight years ago to provide multilingual education for children aged three to fourteen.

Uniquely amongst schools in Russia, the school is both a licensed Russian school and a registered Cambridge International School, and offers a complete programme of study in both curriculums.

The local programme is taught by Russian teachers, and the school encourages and welcomes collaboration between the two contrasting teams.

Furthermore, there are a team of teachers who teach in Tatar, the national language of the Republic of Tatarstan where the school is located.

The school has a strong commitment to using 21st Century methods in the classroom.

As of September 2019, all International teachers are invited to work towards the Cambridge International Diploma in Digital Technologies, which the school will be accredited to deliver.

Our school has a system of criteria-based assessment, which centres on the ability to track progress of skills using objectives included in the curriculum.

Our school supports the idea of Project-Based Learning, and concentrates on practical activities which develops pupils in the areas of academic knowledge and soft skills.

About Kazan

Russia's 'Third Capital', Kazan is the largest city and capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, an autonomous subnational body within the Russian Federation.

With a population of just over one million, Kazan is large enough to offer all the diverse attractions of a large city, while being compact enough to feel homely and inviting.

The city is proud of its rich history, and all around the city, one can see reminders of not only Russian and Tatar influences but a wider international flavour too.

The Kazan Kremlin, which incorporates the largest mosque in Russia, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Transportation is easy, with the Kazan Metro system being the quickest ways to get around. In addition, the city has an abundance of trams, buses and a very good taxi service. Kazan International Airport provides links to several European destinations as well as many other cities within Russia.
