- A minimum of abachelor's degree is required, with a preferred emphasisin sports administration, physical education, recreation orbusiness.
- A minimum of five years'experience with intercollegiate athletic programs as anadministrator, advisor and/or coach with an understanding of theadministrative, financial, fundraising and personnel-relatedresponsibilities of an athleticdepartment.
- Experience in financial andbudgetary responsibilities.
- Track record ofleading a performance- and outcome-based organization withstrategic vision.
- Demonstrated ability tomotivate staff and manage high-performing staff, including coaches,and the ability to set and achieve strategic objectives within acomplicated budget process.
- Demonstratedability to foster and maintain a climate of commitment, a cultureof respect, diversity, belief in service before self, sportsmanshipand professionalism on all levels.
- Ability tosupervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizingand scheduling.
- Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills.
- Ability to stay abreastof current and developing trends.
- Enthusiasmand the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of high stress andconstant change.
- The ability to occasionallytravel to fulfill required duties andassignments.
