Job Summary:


The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping staff and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.

They must uphold high standards of cleanliness, supervise staff performance, and manage inventory and supplies.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housekeepers, and laundry personnel.
  • Assign duties, inspect work, and provide feedback and training to ensure high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities, and submit requisitions for replenishment as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and compliance with established standards.
  • Address guest concerns and requests promptly and professionally, and take appropriate corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and other departments to address maintenance issues and ensure the proper functioning of equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations and procedures, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to housekeeping operations, including room occupancy and maintenance requests.
  • Assist with scheduling, payroll, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to achieve overall guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience in housekeeping or a related field, with at least 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and management.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment used in housekeeping operations.
  • Understanding of safety and sanitation standards and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence in guest service and cleanliness.
  • Certification in housekeeping or hospitality management is a plus.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certification in hospitality management or related field is preferred.
