Job Title:
Head of Finance


Job Summary:

The Head of Finance is a senior executive responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of an organization.

They provide strategic financial guidance and support to the executive team and contribute to the overall financial planning and decision-making process.

The Head of Finance plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's financial stability, profitability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement the organization's financial strategy and longterm financial planning.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify potential risks and opportunities, and propose corrective actions.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the Management.
  • Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, cost analysis, and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and indicators to assess the organization's financial health and performance.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop realistic budgets.
  • Monitor and control the budget throughout the year, providing guidance and support to department heads.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and scenario analysis to assist in decisionmaking and resource allocation.

Financial Operations and Control:

  • Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
  • Oversee financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.

Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Manage the organization's cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
  • Develop and implement effective treasury strategies, including cash management, debt management, and investment strategies.
  • Monitor and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange risk and interest rate risk.
  • Engage with financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, develop, and manage a highperforming finance team.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to finance team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the finance function.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional accounting or finance qualification (e.g., CPA, CFA).
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably as a Finance Manager, Controller, or Director of Finance.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting skills.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and strategic financial management.
  • Proficient in financial software and systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Sharjah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:


  • Master's (preferred)
