Category Manager


Major Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain management of goods, services, and equipment required for the company's operations.
  • Responsible for executing sales strategies that promote the company's products and services.
  • Responsible for optimizing costs, maintaining quality standards, and fostering relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage and optimize Procurement activities and processes.

Other responsibilities:


  • Identify and assess potential suppliers for inputs, equipment, and services.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, terms, and conditions to secure favorable agreements.
  • Manage complete responsibilities for procurement for all the Business verticals.
  • Analyze current stocks in relation to the ongoing and future requirements. Derive purchase plan to smoothly meet anticipated production and business plans.
  • Set, track and maintain purchase budgets.
  • Handling requisitions, RFQ, Process PO's, monitoring delivery statuses and updating the stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage (PO creation, timely closure etc) the local agents used for the logistics and operational purposes.
  • Ensure requisitions from supervisors and managers for goods or services are received, processed, and controlled.
  • Evaluate purchasing terms and conditions, and support management on prices / discounts negotiations.
  • Periodically provide Managers with order status updates on the key project procurements.
  • Seek out new suppliers in order to ensure the best possible goods and services are being obtained at the best possible price.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, delivery terms, and service levels.
  • Source and procure inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, machinery, equipment, and other resources required for farming operations.
  • Ensure procurement activities adhere to relevant legal and ethical standards, including environmental and labor regulations.
  • Responsible for submitting reports as required.
  • Conversion of requisitions to purchase orders.
  • Creation of Purchase orders while taking due care of Taxes, Rates, Terms and Conditions, etc.
  • Supplier Follow up & timely resolutions
  • Liaise with suppliers on delivery schedule so as to ensure ontime & firsttime right deliveries of final product.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration

Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors).

Proven experience in procurement

Strong understanding of operations, inputs, and equipment.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Familiarity with procurement software and tools.

Knowledge of sustainability practices in procurement is a plus.

  • Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
