Job Purpose:


Technical Manager is responsible for providing engineering, technical and product support to the Projects Team and Sales groups across the region with the aim to ensure best valued engineered solutions, standardization and quality outcomes are achieved.

The role is responsible for driving engineering & technical excellence on all UC, contact centers and conferencing Projects with best practice engineering discipline into the process whilst ensuring compliance with agreed procedures and methodology.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all engineering activity for all UC, contact centers and conferencing projects across the region
  • Establish and maintain high standards of performance to maximise the team's ability to meet business goals and objectives
  • Provide Training, coaching, mentoring and linkage for the Implementation Team consisting of Lead Engineers, Project Engineers and Commissioning Engineers to drive best practice within the location
  • Work with Engineering Leader and be responsible for identifying location training needs and development and delivery of tailored technical training courses to improve engineering and product knowledge and capability of the Implementation Team
  • Provide direction and assistance for engineering design, solution development, design verification and support to Building Solutions Projects and Sales groups within the location with the aim to ensure best valued engineered solutions
  • Implementation, Advocacy and ongoing Auditing of the standard Engineering Methodology, processes and tools
  • Provide input and feedback into the Engineering & Technical Team as and when required
  • Provide technical consultation and validation for Customers on technical system design
  • Effectively meet customer's needs, build productive customer relationships and take responsibility for customer satisfaction with regard to the delivered technology solutions
  • Assist with Sales and Product Management support for customer and product demo's & technical submission
  • Facilitate feedback from engineers to appropriate owners on operational and product issues
  • Conduct Technical Risk Reviews where required in Sales Approval process
  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert and assisting with technical support issues as and when required
  • Assist Product Managers in new product & tools development and evaluation (including 3rd party Products)
  • Update the Technical Certification for self as well as the team members
  • Establish policies designed to ensure consistently high service performance
  • Achieve individual and team target
  • Submit weekly reports on all operations and projects to the management clearly showing escalations where required along with project based cost savings
  • Delivery schedule to be provided to the commercial team at the beginning of each project
  • Responsible for Manpower Management (requirement forecasts, recruitment, induction, training, performance monitoring and appraisals)
  • New Product identification relevant to the Business Unit (product/principal identification, concept testing, coordination with the Divisional Manager for agreements)
  • Any other additional tasks the line manager may give and is within the scope of work
  • Leadership responsibilities to ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives through the leadership of function setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to ensure that the highest level of performance is achieved

Job Requirements:


Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree qualifications
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status is desirable

Experience

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years engineering related experience

Certifications

  • Highest level of certifications on the products/solutions
