Our client is a rehabilitation care provider with facilities in the UAE and KSA.

They offer specialized rehabilitation hospital setup and dedicated medical care to patients requiring short-term rehabilitation and long-term care for chronic illness or injury.

The UAE facilities, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, are modified villa complexes with dedicated rehabilitation and pharmacy services, spacious gardens, and recreational outdoor space.

Description:

Our client is looking for a healthcare professional familiar with and complies with all OSHMS policies, standards and procedures that are relevant for their workplace.

Attend applicable facility and departmental safety training and follow OSHMS policies and procedures.

  • Provide highly specialist evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages with speech, language, cognitivecommunicative, voice and swallowing disorders across the Rehabilitation Centre facilities and outpatient therapy settings. Assessing the home and work environments of clients and deciding what adjustments are needed;
  • Provide appropriate and clinically reasoned treatment plans alone and in conjunction with an integrated team of physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians and other IDT members;
  • Work autonomously and carries a mixed caseload of patients with an emphasis on those with highly complex/chronic presentations;
  • Assist with the facilitation of the team's continued professional development (both uniprofessionally and within the wider Inter-Disciplinary Team);
  • Participate in the staff appraisal scheme and identify objectives for personal development with the Clinic Team Lead. To write learning contracts to achieve agreed goals, seeking support if necessary;
  • Responsible for developing the role and scope of service of the SLT within the Rehabilitation Service. This includes initiating and participating in audit and research projects;
  • Facilitate and support the identification, measurement and evaluation of your work and team's current practice through the use of evidencebased practice projects, audit and outcome measures;

  • Review and evaluate the patient's condition at each SLT session and amend the treatment program as necessary to achieve planned objectives;
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate assessment and treatment records in line with legal and departmental requirements, and communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines in the form of letters and reports. benefits.

Skills & Competencies:


  • Excellent communication skills in English;
  • A broad range of experience in a variety of patient care settings including inpatient, outpatient and community;
  • Competence in assessment and treatment of SLT issues in complex neurological conditions.
  • Experience in a specialist role in a related field. Competence in addressing feeding issues in infants, knowledge of assistive communication devices

Education & Qualifications:


  • Bachelors or Diploma in Speech and Language therapy;
  • 1 year of postgraduate experience in a variety of clinical environments;
  • Valid DOH license or eligibility;
  • This post is only for UAE nationals with valid passports and family books due to Emiratisation rules and regulations;
  • Preferred Post qualifying certificates in relevant areas (i.e Dysphagia Management, Assistive Communication Assessments or Advanced Linguistics)
