    Railway Safety Expert - ISA - QatarA well-known client is looking for a Railway Safety Expert to undertake independent safety assessments associated with the project lifecycle of the assets of Doha Metro, Lusail Tram and Long Distance.

    To assess that that Safety Engineering and Safety of Operations on network are conducted in compliance with international standards and codes of practice, in order to achieve /maintain a level of risk that is at least as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).Duties & ResponsibilitiesSTRATEGIC
    • Supports the Senior Manager in establishing plans and procedures, regulations for safety, certification, regulation, safety of operations and risk assessment.
    • Meets the Key Performance Indicators and Department objectives agreed with the Senior Manager.
    • Representing Safety Engineering and Safety of Operations matters internally.
    SAFETYThis is a Key Safety Position
    • Assess systems within your domain competencies
    • Liaise with consultants and contractors on assessment issues, and interface with clients on both technical and contractual matters.
    • Interfacing with domain assessors for other disciplines within the QR business, for example the Rolling Stock, Signalling, Power Supply, Civil engineering, Operation and Maintenance.
    • Provide guidance to the assessment process and moderate the output.
    • Owns the Safety assessments of the Requests for Changes (i.e. Operational Changes and Changes to Systems).OPERATIONAL
    • Takes full responsibility with regard to provision of expert support for procedures / processes on risk management and standards.
    • Develops and recommends best industry practices with regard to safety assessments.
    • Interfacing with contractor teams on Safety of Operations & Safety Engineering issues
    • Complies with all Management System (CMS) policies, plans and procedures
    • Performs and carry out other duties as requested by the Senior Manager
    • Assessing that Safety Engineering and Safety of Operations activities are undertaken as described by Common Safety Methods, Yellow Book and EN50126 Assessing the impact on safety due to change in requirements and establishing a process for monitoring of requirements.
    EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in engineering.


    EXPERIENCE:


    Minimum 10 years' experience in Railway Safety and Regulations safety approvals and decision making with special emphasis on experience in EN 5012X.

    Extensive experience in safety certification of railway projects / railway engineering, construction and bringing / maintaining assets into use.
    Experience of building relationships with, and influencing a range of people at all levels within and outside the organisation Company Industry Recruitment
