we are actively searching for a
GIS Database Administrator to join our award-winning team.


Primary Responsibilities (others may be assigned):

  • Perform DBA responsibilities for production, test and development Oracle databases version 19c.
  • Monitor server disk space usage and automated OEM jobs, RMAN backup reports and logs and export log files.
  • Create and modify automated Recovery Manager (RMAN) database backups in OEM, datapump exports, and PL/SQL procedures, files and other various programs.
  • Monitor database performance using OEM grid control13c, Quest TOAD, Quest Spotlight on Oracle and SQL Developer.
  • Perform database performance tuning that includes tuning developers SQL programs and providing alternative SQL statements that result in improved performance.
  • Create and maintain Oracle datapump exports and metadata exports and scheduled them to run in OEM13c. Must also perform user requested datapump exports manually as needed as well as datapump imports.
  • Maintain Database Disaster Recovery Procedures.
  • Develop database user requested ERD diagrams and workflows using SQL Developer Data Modeler or TOAD Modeler.
  • Assist developers in resolving ESRI GIS problems and errors.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues and errors by reviewing database files and trace files.
  • Create and review log files for automated monthly RMAN validations on backups to ensure they are valid for restoring.
  • Create, assign and maintain database user accounts, roles, grants and privileges.
  • Reconcile, post and compress geodatabases on a daily basis, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Create, delete, consolidate events in Esri Roads and Highways
  • Maintain data and data integrity in geodatabases, scripting updates and providing backups to file geodatabases where appropriate.
  • Create scripts to geolocate data in appropriate projections for incorporation into existing spatial tables.
  • Initiate, support and maintain versioning (both branch and traditional/hierarchical) on spatial databases.

Qualifications:

What you bring to our firm:

  • B.S. degree in computer science or related field
  • 8 years of experience in business process reengineering
  • 6 years of experience managing, installing, and upgrading and Oracle database environment
  • 5 years of experience in reengineering large scale business processes
  • 5 years of experience with Esri ArcGIS Server
  • 3 years of experience with Esri Roads and Highways
  • 3 years of experience creating RMAN scripts for backing up data
  • 3 years of experience with Commvault backup and recovery systems or similar
  • 3 years of experience with database tuning and capacity planning
  • 3 years of experience with database backups and recovery
  • 3 years of experience with Windows Server Datacenter 201 3 years of experience with OEM tools (13c) and Oracle Grid Management Server
  • 3 years of experience working with TCP/IP and DNS
  • 3 years of experience with Oracle 19c or higher and their management packs
