Golf Shop Sales Executive at The Els Club


Position Overview:


The Golf Shop Sales Executive at The Els Club is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and generating sales revenue in the golf shop.

This role requires a strong passion for golf, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to sales.

The Golf Shop Sales Executive will report to the Golf Shop Manager and work closely with the golf operations team to ensure a seamless customer experience.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Customer Service:

  • Greet customers, provide product information, and assist with product selection.
  • Promote and sell golf merchandise, including golf clubs, apparel, accessories, and equipment.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Upsell and crosssell products to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business.

Merchandise Management:

  • Receive, unpack, and display merchandise in an attractive and organized manner.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment as needed.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with inventory management.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and tagging of merchandise.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new product releases.

Point of Sale (POS) Operations:

  • Operate the POS system accurately for sales transactions.
  • Process cash, credit card, and other forms of payment.
  • Maintain a balanced cash register and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.
  • Generate sales reports and provide insights to the Golf Shop Manager.

Golf Events and Promotions:

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of golf events, tournaments, and promotional activities.
  • Set up promotional displays and assist with marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Golf Shop Manager to develop sales strategies and promotions.

General Shop Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the golf shop.
  • Ensure product displays are wellmaintained and visually appealing.
  • Assist with inventory audits and loss prevention measures.
  • Identify and report any equipment or facility maintenance issues.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales or business is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a sales role, preferably in a golf or retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.
  • Familiarity with golf rules, terminology, and etiquette.
  • Proficiency in using point of sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Customer serviceoriented with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
