- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by thoroughly researching proposals, blueprints, and related documents.
- Prepare detailed cost estimate reports to support decision-making.
- Collect quotes from various subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Utilize negotiation skills to obtain competitive prices and favorable terms.
- Use financial and project management principles to analyze data affecting project costs.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential cost implications.
- Monitor budgets and expenses using specialized software packages.
- Ensure expenses align with forecasted plans during different project stages.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest construction technologies, regulatory requirements, and legislative changes.
- Collaborate closely with key members of the project team, including the bid manager, clients, and suppliers.
- Present complex and detailed cost estimation reports to management.
- Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar position.
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles.
- In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods, as well as estimation formulas.
- Strong mathematical and IT skills with an analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Thoroughness, reliability, and excellent organizational skills.
- Educational background in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Quantity Survey.
