***The Category Strategist will drive growth in our business unites by deeply understanding our consumer, brands and market, to identify opportunities to unlock significant results. He/she will guide and influence category decision making by providing actionable, data-based reporting, analysis & insights to achieve business growth.


Key responsibilities of the Category Strategist include:


  • Business Partnership: Act as a strategic partner to the category teams. Supports Generating Demand teams and corporate functions (General Management, Communication & Media, Nutrition, CSV, Corporate Communication, Finance...) as well as Corporate Communication

Vertical Expertise: Develop deep knowledge and expertise in the assigned category verticals. Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.

Future Business Growth: Identify and evaluate potential growth opportunities within the category verticals. Conduct market research, analyze data, and provide insights to support decision-making and drive business growth.

Category Knowledge: Build and instill category knowledge across the organization. Develop training programs, conduct workshops, and share best practices to enhance category understanding and expertise among team members.

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the category teams to develop long-term strategic plans for their respective categories. Define objectives, set targets, and create action plans to achieve business growth and profitability.

Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze category performance metrics, including sales, market share, and profitability. Identify areas of improvement and recommend strategies to optimize performance and drive results.

Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including category teams, sales, marketing, and operations. Collaborate and align on business objectives, share insights, and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Equity: Manages Brand Health Trackers and other equity studies and generate cross brand/Category insights related to equity and recommends actions

Capability Building: Drive the transformation in marketing to ensure consumer centricity and insight driven decision making.


Requirements for the role:


  • At least 5 + years' experience in market research at Nestlé, agency or equivalent FMCG
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in brand management, business strategy, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
  • Deep understanding of brand management, consumer insights, market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
