• Monitors patients blood pressures andinforms physician of any changes frombaseline
• Monitors the position of catheter inthe heart by interpreting intracardiacpressures
• Records pressures in all chambersrequested by physician
• Maintains through theuse of the Cardiac Cath Lab computer a complete record of allevents occurring during a procedure
  

5 .Responsible for calibrating andoperating the equipment during a procedure. i.e. A-Vox, CardiacOutput, ACT

• Informsphysician and monitoring CVT ofresults
• Supplies physician with equipmentduring procedures. i.e. catheter, wires, balloons, andstints
• Responsible for all data analysis,processing data through computer and printing out all appropriateinformation
• Sets up and calibrates theintra-aortic balloon pump, sets the initial timing and fine tunesthe timing with the physician once balloon is inplace
• Monitors the balloon pump duringprocedure and stays with the patient until they are in the CCU, OR,or the CSICU
• Assists in emergency situations byperforming resuscitation measures. i.e. operating defibrillator,performing artificial resuscitation, external pacemaker, suctioningpatients
• Replenishes supplies in the lab asnecessary and performs preventative maintenance on equipmentutilizing an understanding of the mechanicalworkings
• Notifies supervisor of any seriousmalfunctions and equipmentshortages
• Responsible for learning and applyingnew technology and/or procedures as they are introduced to theCardiac Cath Lab. i.e. Flow wire, ultrasound,rotablator
• Operates power injector for largevolume dye contrast injections
• Assists incardiac catheterizations by setting up, in a sterile field,equipment and instruments
• Sets up rooms foreach patient by entering name, MR number, and appropriateinformation into the DX
• Assists the nursingstaff by transporting patient from one area tonext
