    JOB SUMMARY

    The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for contractingand closing local catering and social business and ensuring thatbusiness is turned over properly and in a timely fashion forquality service delivery. The position is responsible for achievingcatering revenue goals by actively upselling each businessopportunity to maximize revenue. The incumbent implements thebrands service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in allaspects of the sales process and drives customer loyalty bydelivering service excellence throughout each customerexperience.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experiencein the sales and marketing guest services front desk or relatedprofessional.

    OR

    • 2year degree from an accredited university inBusiness Administration Marketing Hotel and Restaurant Managementor related major; no work experience required.

    COREWORK ACTIVITIES

    Managing Sales Activities

    • Manages sales efforts for the hotel includinglocal corporate and social catering.
    • Works collaboratively with offproperty saleschannels (e.g. Sales Office Area Sales EST) to ensure sales effortsare coordinated complementary and not duplicative.
    • Responds to incoming cateringopportunities for the hotel.
    • Identifies qualifies and solicits new catering businessto achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
    • Understands the overall market competitorsstrengths and weaknesses economic trends supply and demand etc. andknows how to sell against them.
    • Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based onmarket conditions and hotel needs.
    • Uses negotiating skills and creative sellingabilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
    • Designs develops and sellscreative catered events.
    • Maximizes revenue by upselling packages and creative foodand beverage.
    • Managescatering sales revenue and operation budgets and providesforecasting reports.
    • Develops menus which drive sales.
    • Executes and supports the operational aspectsof business booked (e.g. generating proposal writing contractcustomer correspondence).
    • Participates in and practices daily service basics of thebrand.
    • Monitors theeffective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of thesales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to propertyleadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders.
    • Ensures successful performance byincreasing revenues controlling expenses and providing a return oninvestment for the owner and the company.

    ProvidingExceptional Customer Service

    • Interacts effectively with sales kitchen vendorscompetitors local community catering associations and other hoteldepartments in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Executes and supports the companysCustomer Service Standards and hotels Brand Standards.
    • Executes exemplary customerservice to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting thecustomer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during theirprogram/event.
    • Servesthe customer by understanding their needs and recommending theappropriate features and services that best meet their needs andexceed their expectations while building a relationship and loyaltyto the company.
    • Gainsunderstanding of the hotels primary target customer and serviceexpectations; serve the customer by understanding their businessbusiness issues and concerns to offer better business solution bothprior to and during the program/event.
    • Develops a close working relationship withoperations to ensure execution of strategies at the hotellevel.
