    Weare helping an animal charity to recruit a permanent part-timemember of staff in Barrow-in-Furness. You will be working 20 hoursperweek.

    Themain purpose of your role will be to work with and support theCharity Manager to ensure the smooth and effective running of thecharity operations. This includes a Cattery and two RetailShops.

    Yournew job / responsibilities

    Assistthe Charity Managerwith:
    • Allday-to-dayadministration
    • Recruitmentand training of staff and volunteers for the cattery and two retailshops.
    • Running of the cattery andtwo retail shops
    • Liaison withcompany accountant and solicitor about personnel and HRissues.
    • Organisation of Trusteesmeetings, AGMs, EGMs etc, production of Agendas attend whererequired and take and typeminutes.
    • General administrationduties, including typing, checking and responding to emails andfiling.
    • Ensuring accurate paper andelectronic records arekept.
    • Maintenance of financialrecords, paying suppliers, compiling monthly paperwork anddelivering to the accountant forprocessing.
    • Submitting wage detailsto accountant for preparation, banking of income and donations,controlling petty cashrecords.
    • Compilation of monthlyincome and expenditurefigures.
    • Managing and controllingthe distribution of vouchers and payments for veterinary care tomembers of the public.
    • Ordering ofsupplies for cattery, retail shops andoffice.
    • Funding applications andfundraisingactivities.

    Benefits


    Salaryand benefits

    • The pay iscurrently 11.13 perhour.
    • Permanent staffpart time position (20 hours per week) days and hours to beagreed.
    • 28 days holiday per year(pro-rata).

    Pleasenote whilst this is a paid permanent staff position, thecharity does require that their employees also agree to volunteerwith them. This voluntary work is not compulsory and is entirelyseparate from the paid employment. As an organisation with limitedfunds, they do rely heavily on volunteers. However, if you are notable to offer voluntary work, this will not affect the paidposition. Your two roles paid employee and volunteer would be keptseparate.
