THE POST


Aldar Education are currently seeking an outstanding
HLTA for
Al Ain British Academy in Al Ain commencing in the Academic Year.


Al Ain Academy opened in September 2011 providing high quality education in the heritage 'Garden City' of the United Arab Emirates.

The children are taught the English National Curriculum - tailored to be meaningful to children living in Al Ain.

Facilities at the school are excellent and include a large astro-turf field, two swimming pools, well-stocked library, a large multi-purpose sports hall, an auditorium and outdoor play areas.

It is an exciting, challenging and enjoyable school to work in where achievement for pupils is at the heart of all we do.

The school has achieved outstanding levels of progress and attainment, supported by rigorous tracking of data and assessment in all areas of the curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications
Two-year diploma degree in Education or/ Special Education or/ to have a high school diploma with a Special Education training program/High School Certificate
Minimum Experience:

  • 2 Years of Experience in same Field

Main Responsibilities:


  • To work as part of the team in supporting students with Additional/Educational needs/disabilities in classes
  • To deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.

  • Be committed to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Working alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet requirements of the curriculum.
  • Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly.
  • Working cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children's development.

Teaching and learning:

  • Clear understanding of the Curriculum.
  • Organising the classroom provision and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Planning, preparing and presenting sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
  • Observing and assessing children in line with school assessments.
  • Being reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting environment, planning and curriculum to reflect this.
  • To develop an understanding of the Additional Educational Needs (AEN) /special Educational Needs of the student/s concerned
  • To take into account the student/s' special needs and ensure their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment and materials
  • To build and maintain successful relationships with student(s), treat them consistently, with respect and consideration
  • To help reinforce learning
  • To help promote independent learning
  • To help students record work in an appropriate way
  • To develop study and organisational skills.
  • To help build the student/s' confidence and enhance selfesteem
  • To maintain liaison with parents regarding student(s) performance
  • To have formal and informal meetings with regard to Teaching and Learning plans for the lesson/activities
  • To prepare materials and resources as required
  • To prepare students beforehand for a task
  • To work on differentiated activities with identified groups
  • To support the teacher in implementing specific teaching techniques
  • To supervise practical tasks
