Higher College of Technology - UAE is hiring Lecturers and Senior Lecturers
The Faculty at HCT is currently recruiting for the Fall Semester 2023 which will commence around early August 2023. We are recruiting for the HCT system of 16 Campuses all over the UAE. The vacancies within the faculty are for Lecturers, and Senior Lecturers (case to case basis).

Job Purpose


The Supply Chain Management Program Lecturer will be responsible for developing and delivering lectures and assessments for supply chain management courses in the supply chain management program.

Will work closely with other faculty members to ensure that the curriculum is current, relevant, and meets the program's objectives.


Program Courses covered by position (one or more):

Supply Chain Management, Supplier Management, Warehouse and Distribution Management, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Risk Management, Supply Chain Operations Planning and Control, Sourcing in Procurement, Procurement and Inventory Management, Negotiating and Contracting in Procurement, Managing Relationships in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Research Project.


Key Accountabilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops and delivers lectures and assessments for supply chain management courses in the higher college's supply chain management program in order for students to gain planning and organizational skills, quantitative and analytical skills, contract negotiation and information technology related skills as they learn the science of managing global operations.
  • Develops course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials in order to ensure student will have the skills, values and ability to explain, analyze and evaluate complex Logistics and Supply Chain Management processes in local and global contexts, while demonstrating the ability to work independently, or in teams, to think critically, solve problems, make recommendations for improvements, and use advanced Logistics and Supply Chain Management tools.
  • Develops and implements, program policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Collaborates with other faculty members and program coordinators to ensure that the curriculum is current, relevant, and meets the program's objectives.
  • Creates and grades assignments, exams, and other assessments.
  • Maintains accurate and uptodate records of student attendance, grades, and other academic information.
  • Provides feedback and supports to students to help them achieve their academic and professional goals. Maintains open communication with students about their performance in the program.
  • Offers support to students outside of class, such as office hours or online discussion forums, to help them succeed in the course.
  • Stays uptodate with industry developments and trends to ensure that the program remains relevant and competitive. Conducts research to ensure that program content is uptodate and relevant.
  • Attends faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and other higher college events as required.
  • Serves as an academic advisor to students and participate in other studentcentered activities.
  • Participates in program and department meetings to discuss curriculum, assessment, and other academic issues.
  • Participates in universitywide committees or initiatives related to teaching and learning, to help promote best practices and improve student outcomes.
  • Serves as a mentor to other faculty members or student teachers, offering guidance and support on teaching practices and pedagogy.
  • Perform any other relevant task as directed by direct superior.

Qualifications

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and/or Experience


Academic background includes a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business analytics, business management, finance, engineering.

Minimum 5 years related industrial experience, with preferred minimum of 2 years of university level teaching experience.

Required expertise includes deep understanding of: Procurement and Inventory Management, Negotiating and Contracting in Procurement, Managing Relationships in Procurement, Sourcing in Procurement, Lean Management, Logistics and Supply Chain, Supply Chain Risk Management, Supply Chain Operations Planning & Control

Licenses/Certificates (minimum 2): Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) by APICS, Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) by CSCMP, Certified Professional in Supply Ma
