Core Accountabilities:


  • HSE Manager shall be the responsible person for ensuring the development and smooth running of the IMS Management System.
  • Responsible to resolve any escalated Technical issues.

Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities:


  • Develop and assist site management in implementing project specific HSE Plan.
  • Have the ultimate authority to issue stop work order on site if any imminent danger is not being rectified immediately to his satisfaction
  • Liaise with Consultants/clients/contractor in line with HEALTH AND SAFETY management System to ensure full understanding and communication of all safety issues impacting on Project Management activities
  • Prepare Weekly and Monthly Safety progress report and submit to Head Office/client
  • Carry out HSE inspection of Work Area, Work Method, Men, Machine & Materials, P&M and other tools and tackles.
  • Taking part in internal and external audit and to positively close all the issues/non conformities raised in the audits.
  • Conduct investigation of all near miss cases / LTI / Fatal / dangerous occurrences & recommend appropriate corrective measures.
  • Advice & coordinate for implementation of Work Permit Systems.
  • Oversee risk assessment program.
  • Advise construction team on safe systems of work and safest method of working.
  • Plan procurement of PPE & safety devices and inspect before use
  • Report to HOD-HSE on all matters pertaining to status of HSE and promotional programme at site level.
  • Plan for HSE Audits and conduct subcontractor's internal HSE Audits
  • Conduct Fire Drill, Procure, inspect and arrange to maintain Fire Extinguishers.
  • In the event of an emergency, coordinate with client and implement emergency evacuation plan as agreed.
  • Coordinate with consultant/client regarding safety issues and project related matters.
  • Attend consultant and client meetings as required on HSE related matters.
  • Organise campaigns, competitions & other special emphasis programmes to promote HSE in the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor Degree
  • Nebosh
  • Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 10 years of experience, including at least experience in an organization.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Planning and Organizing, Scheduling and Coordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording
