About the Role

At GEMS World Academy Abu Dhabi, we are looking for a PE Teaching Assistant
to join us for the upcoming academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a specialised educator who is excited to join our world class schools and is driven to provide education at an exceptional level.

Responsibilities:

Assist the physical education team in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialised tasks.
Assist in establishing and maintaining standards of student behaviour.
Alert the teacher to special needs of individual students.
Provide escort and assistance to children as necessary.
Help maintain individual records for each student.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Encourage safety habits in work and organizsed game activities.
Set up equipment for class.
Help maintain order in the classroom; monitor students to keep them on tasks.
General knowledge of the practices, methods and techniques used in physical education
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students and

Minimum requirements:

Swim Teacher Level 1 and Level 2 qualification.
Sports Coaching/Leader qualification.
Level 3 Sports qualification a necessity/degree study desirable/ambition to qualify as a PE Teacher.
Have solid and demonstrable knowledge about behaviour management strategies, including encouragement of good behaviour and discipline.
Be wellorganised and an effective communicator to be able to influence students, parents, teachers and school leaders.
Be willing to develop skills to acquire further knowledge and to continuously improve in a professional teaching and learning environment.
Have belief that all students have the potential for high performance and support teachers' motivation, drive and passion as invaluable in enabling student success.
