The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordinator is a key role in the construction and building industry, responsible for coordinating and implementing BIM processes throughout the project lifecycle.

The BIM Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating collaboration and communication among various stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

BIM Implementation:
Lead the implementation of BIM processes and technologies on construction projects. Ensure that BIM standards, protocols, and best practices are followed by all project team members. Develop and maintain project-specific BIM execution plans.


Model Coordination:

Coordinate and manage the creation, integration, and maintenance of 3D models, including architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) disciplines.

Resolve clashes or conflicts in the models through clash detection and coordination meetings.


Collaboration and Communication:
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors. Promote information exchange and coordination through regular meetings and workshops.


Model Quality Control:
Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of BIM models. Review and validate model information, including geometry, attributes, and data consistency.


BIM Standards and Guidelines:
Stay updated with industry BIM standards, guidelines, and emerging technologies. Ensure compliance with local regulations, project requirements, and BIM protocols.


Training and Support:
Provide training and support to project team members on BIM tools, software, and workflows. Assist in resolving technical issues related to BIM implementation.


Data Management:
Manage BIM data and project documentation, including model files, drawings, and specifications. Establish and maintain a structured and organized BIM project database.


Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains in BIM workflows. Propose and implement enhancements to optimize project outcomes.


Job Requirement:
Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a BIM Coordinator or a similar role in the construction industry. Proficiency in BIM software platforms such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360. Familiarity with BIM standards and protocols, such as COBie, IFC, and LOD (Level of Development). Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP systems. Excellent coordination and communication skills to facilitate collaboration among project stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control and data management. Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively under pressure. Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and construction practices. Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in BIM and digital construction.
